Song that got you to the final:

Rise Up - Andra Day

Did you watch your episode, what was the response from your family and friends?

Yes. I went to my grandparents’ house, and all of the family there. Basically everyone was crying, everyone was so proud of me. It was an incredible moment.

Did you get to know your fellow finalists?

Yeah, really well. It was quite hard being up against everyone, as we all became friends. That’s the hardest thing, as we were all rooting for each other.

Song for the final?

What About Us - Pink

Why did you choose your song for the final?

It was a risky one for me, and it was 50/50 if I would do it. I would usually sing a ballad, but I went for something more up tempo. The lyrics were still really meaningful though.

How did you feel backstage before you performed in the final?

I was terrified! I was just sitting backstage over-thinking it, and panicking. I kept drinking lots of lemon and honey.

What was the atmosphere like when you walked out in front of The 100?

You could hear a pin drop. It was absolute silence. I was nervous and had butterflies, but my family were there and I knew they had my back.

What is your favourite all time song and/or artist?

I’ve always been a fan of country, but then I sang Rise Up which is more pop/gospel. I love Sia who has a huge voice. I like a big mixture, it’s always about the lyrics for me, and if it moves me.
