Former Manchester United footballer Dion Dublin joins the original line-up of Martin Roberts and Lucy Alexander on BBC One Daytime hit show Homes Under The Hammer.

The England-capped footballer has traded the 'Theatre of Dreams' for his excitement and love of properties, meeting budding developers from around the country hearing their stories of homes sold under the hammer.

Even while playing professional football, Dion has followed his love for properties and their potential scoring successes in the property market having bought, sold and invested in bricks and mortar.

Kicking off the 19th series, Martin, Lucy and Dion will follow three properties bought at auction, the renovations the buyers have planned and problems they encounter and whether they have made a gain or a loss from buying under the hammer.

Dion says: “I am thrilled to be joining Martin and Lucy on Homes Under The Hammer. I have a passion for property and look forward to meeting people on the show who share that passion.”

Jo Street, Acting Controller of BBC Daytime, says: “I am thrilled that Dion Dublin is joining the Homes Under The Hammer line-up. He shares Martin and Lucy's passion for properties and people and his warm personality make him the perfect addition to the family.”

Lisa Hazlehurst, Executive Producer for Lion Television Scotland, says: “Dion’s enthusiasm for property is infectious and we’re really excited he is joining Homes Under The Hammer, which has proved such a hit with audiences for more than a decade.”

Homes Under The Hammer is made by Lion Television Scotland for BBC One Daytime. It is commissioned by Jo Street, Acting Controller, BBC Daytime and executively produced by Lisa Hazlehurst of Lion Television Scotland.
