Families will once again have the chance to see their favourite CBeebies stars on stage in the ever-popular CBeebies Christmas Show, which this year is being performed and recorded at The Wales Millennium Centre in Cardiff.

This year’s show is an adaptation of the children’s classic Alice In Wonderland, and will star CBeebies favourites Cat Sandion as Alice and Justin Fletcher as the Queen of Hearts along with a host of other much-loved CBeebies presenters. Pan-Wales youth choir Only Kids Allowed will also have a starring role.

Speaking about the show, Kay Benbow, Controller of CBeebies, says: “The CBeebies Christmas Show is one of the highlights of my year. It is always full of warmth, humour and we know that our audiences absolutely love it. We can’t wait to visit Cardiff this year and bring Alice In Wonderland to life in a way that only CBeebies can do.”

The classic novel by Lewis Carroll has been specially adapted for the CBeebies audience, with high adventure, aerial acrobatics, laugh-out-loud moments and catchy songs featuring throughout.

Alice’s story starts at a riverside family picnic where she is encouraged to use her imagination by her family. The result is a playful journey through Wonderland, where Alice meets a colourful succession of characters and learns how to make believe.

There are two performances of the show, which will be filmed on 7 November and will be the centrepiece of this year’s CBeebies Christmas schedule.

Alice In Wonderland has been commissioned by Kay Benbow, Controller of CBeebies, and the executive producer is Tony Reed. Jon Hancock is the producer. Jon Spooner is the Theatre Director, and has co-written the adaptation with Clare Duffy.
