Valerie Hughes-D’Aeth appointed as BBC Director of HR

The BBC today announced that Valerie Hughes-D’Aeth will lead the Corporation’s People Division from August this year.

Valerie has over 30 years' operational HR experience, including 10 years as Group HR Director in large, complex organisations of a similar size to the BBC.

She is currently working as Group HR and Communications Director for Amey, a £2.3bn organisation with 21,000 employees, and will continue to do so until the end of July. Prior to joining Amey five years ago, Valerie worked as Group HR Director for Xansa and subsequently Steria.

As BBC Director of HR, Valerie will report to Anne Bulford, Managing Director of Finance and Operations.

Valerie replaces Lucy Adams, who left the BBC at the end of the last financial year.
