Notes to Editors
The shortlisted vote options for each category were selected by a committee of specialist departments across BBC Radio 1/1Xtra and Newsbeat.
The criteria to qualify for inclusion in the lists must have been met by the nominee sometime between 1 September 2012 and 1 October 2013.
For the first year, the viewers of CBBC’s Friday Download will also have their very own award to vote for – The Friday Download Best British Breakthrough Award. The award will recognise an individual who has shown significant progress and made an impact in an area such as film, TV, music, sport or other areas of culture and entertainment.
