Comedian Lee Mack is an acclaimed stand up performer, the star of the award-winning sitcom Not Going Out, and resident team captain of panel quiz show Would I Lie to You. His first foray into comedy was in 1994 at an open mic night in Surbiton. Eighteen months later, he became a full-time comedian.
Lee left school at 16. Although he’d never ridden a horse before, he quite fancied becoming a jockey because ‘how hard can it be when the horse is doing all the work?’ He got a job as a stable hand, and although he never got much further than shovelling horse manure, he did have his very first riding lesson on the world-famous Red Rum. Lee also had a stint as a Pontin’s blue coat, but he was sacked after appearing on stage drunk.
