Nonsuch Antiquarian Society |
The NAS is the local history, archaeology and conservation society for the Epsom and Ewell area of Surrey. It was founded in 1960 by people who had recently taken part in a major excavation of Henry VIII's Nonsuch Palace in Ewell. The Sunbury and Shepperton Local History Society |
The Society was founded in 1951 to foster interest in local history, particularly of our own area, namely Shepperton, Sunbury, Charlton, Littleton, and Halliford, both upper and lower. Members are encouraged to research the past and also to record the present for the benefit of future generations. Short articles of research are published in the Society's twice-yearly Journal (free to members). Longer pieces of research are published in book form: at present there are more than 20 publications.
