Today we're looking at pronunciation. It's important to be aware of how native speakers of English really sound. This will help you become a more confident speaker, but also improve your listening. If you know how words and sounds are pronounced and how they link together in the natural flow of speech, it will help you understand spoken English better.

You're going to watch Tim's Pronunciation Workshop. How many ways of pronouncing 'can' does he mention? And what affects the way 'can' is pronounced?

a) the stress in the sentence
