TV - Online programmes

Online programmes
Many Italian TV stations broadcast some programmes via their websites.

Rai TV

Radiotelevisione Italiana, Italy's national public service station broadcasts 3 channels - Rai Uno, Rai Due and Rai Tre - as well as a news and sports channel. Rai Educational shows documentaries and historical programmes. A wide selection of programmes is available to watch online and download as podcasts (although not all are available outside of Italy).

Canale 5

The first private television station to be founded in Italy shows news and entertainment programmes including some US series. Run by the Mediaset network, the video section of its website has clips of many of its programmes.

Italia 1

A commercial television station, again part of the Mediaset network. Aimed at the younger end of the market, it broadcasts news, sport, cartoons and lots of US TV series like Nip / Tuck, I Simpson (Simpsons) and CSI. Clips of programmes are available from the same video section as Canale 5.

Rete 4 (Retequattro)

Another station from the Mediaset network. Mostly entertainment, with US imports, as well as TG4 news. Again, clips available in the video section.

A private television channel owned by Telecom Italia Media. Shows a mix of cultural programmes and US imports. Clips of shows are in the Ultimi Video section about half way down the homepage.
