What does the "Reset" error message mean in BBC iPlayer Downloads (PC/Mac)?
If you run out of memory to store downloaded programmes, or if the BBC iPlayer Downloads application database gets corrupted, you’ll see this message:
"There are problems with your downloads, to continue using the application it needs to be reset."
Here's what to do:
Select "Remove downloads and restart" and BBC iPlayer Downloads will restart and reset its database. While it will appear that you've lost your downloaded programmes, they will still be on your computer.
To access any downloaded programmes that are still available on BBC iPlayer, just hit the Download button on the relevant programme page on BBC iPlayer and your BBC iPlayer Downloads application will automatically find them on your computer.
If you've run out of storage space, you'll need to quit the application and manually delete existing downloads to free up some memory. We recommend you allow at least 4GB for programme downloads.
