I am a member of the Bristol branch of the Merchant Navy Association. We are part of a national organisation dedicated to providing both a social forum for merchant navy seafarers and to raising both the understanding and profile of the merchant navy with the public at large. Here in Bristol we have a £100,000 memorial to merchant seamen located at Welsh Back, near to Bristol Bridge and a MN Book of Remembrance signed by HRH The Princess Royal, located in St Stephens Church in which there is also a stained glass tribute to the MN, the church is located off Corn St City. My e-mail is and I will be pleased to respond to any requests for information etc. All of my articles are based on the personal experiences of the merchant navy seafarers named in the heading to the story. Sadly some have passed on since their stories were written.
