Pencil Toes are from Hereford, and met at the end of 2006. They played their first local show at the start of 2007, and by August had a personal invite from The Gossip to open two UK shows in front of 2000+ sell-out crowds (their first shows outside of Hereford). ![]() By the end of the year Steve Lamacq, Huw Stephens and Colin Murray had all played demo tracks by the band on BBC Radio 1. Artrocker magazine featured another demo track on their December covermount CD, and drummer Alex became the first member of the band to turn 18. A publishing deal with Domino Records kicked off an exciting 2008, closely followed by a live session at BBC Maida Vale, courtesy of the Friday Session Introducing on BBC Hereford & Worcester.
Help playing audio/video Musically the band will appeal to fans of Bloc Party, Yeah Yeah Yeahs, Be Your Own Pet, etc. They play upbeat post-punk, with poppy and dancey elements.
