Pittosporums are excellent for sheltered gardens and costal areas where the climate is not to harsh. In these areas plants make good specimen trees or can be trimmed into neat hedges. 'Silver Queen' is an attractive cultivar with attractive white markings on the edge of its leaves. During late spring and early summer small, bell-shaped, purple flowers are produced in clusters followed by spherical brown seed capsules. The foliage also lasts well when cut making it a good accompaniment to flowers.
