In a Boston or whisky glass, mash (muddle) the gooseberries with the sugar using the end of a clean rolling pin.
Add the gin, elderflower cordial and lime juice. Shake well, then strain into a highball glass filled with ice. Top up with lemonade and garnish with some fresh gooseberries and elderflowers.
