BBC Singers 2014-15 Season BBC Singers at 90

The BBC Singers today mark the 90th anniversary of their formation. Later this evening they join forces with the BBC SO, performing in Ives’ Symphony no 4 and giving the world premiere of a brand new work by Kevin Volans. In Singers at Six the group reflects on a 90-year commitment to the music of our own time with performances of some of the works written specially for them – from music by Britten, Tippett, Berkeley and others in the Singers’ earliest commissions through to pieces composed in more recent years by composers including Judith Bingham and Gabriel Jackson.
