About This Event

Ken Bruce is your genealogist for the most famous family tree in musical history - the Strauss family. Stephen Bell conducts the BBC Concert Orchestra in an evening of waltzes, polkas, quadrilles and marches.

First came Johann Strauss the father and then Waltz King himself - Johann Strauss II and his brothers - Josef and Eduard. The music will include many Strauss favourites - The Blue Danube; Tales from the Vienna Woods; Bahn Frei!; Die Libelle and we’ll end with the Radetsky March.

Our guest coloratura soprano will be Friday night star Rebecca Bottone - who will perform Village Swallows and When the Lemon Trees Bloom.

Viennese whirl anyone?
