- This was one of the earliest Lennon/McCartney originals written in the "front parlour" of his house in Forthlin Road in Allerton in September 1962.

- There are numerous covers including The Supremes and Tiffany who had a hit with it in 1988. My favourite is a Cliff Richard version from 1968.

- Elton John & John Lennon performed it live in 1974 where John dedicates it to "an old, estranged fiancé of mine, called Paul."

- When they played it live at the Cavern it would sometimes last up to 10 minutes long with numerous guitar solos.

- Its sung by Paul.
