  2. Lewis Capaldi pulls in a family favour...

    View more on youtube

The Scots singer-songwriter has a well-placed connection in the upper reaches of the British acting establishment.

And his surname gives it away a wee bit.

The singer has enlisted his second cousin, Doctor Who star Peter to appear in the new promo for his songs Someone You Loved.

Did he get a family discount though?...

  3. 5 Things We've Learned This Week

    Pink

It's been a big week for Pink, who began the week with her Hollywood star and then got told she is getting an outstanding achievement at the Brit awards.

21 Savage's legal troubles continue (scroll down for more), 10m people tuned into a virtual gig by US DJ Marshmello, Mariah Carey announced three nights at the Royal Albert Hall and we met a Newbie Tuesday artist who is equal parts Rihanna and Lily Allen.

Here's the best of the rest...

    R Kelly

    1) R Kelly has been barred from the City of Brotherly Love

Well, not quite barred as that would be pretty hard to enforce.

However, Philadelphia City Council has unanimously passed a resolution which serves as “a public declaration” that the city "doesn’t welcome” him.

The 58-year-old Grammy winner has been mired in allegations of sexual abuse for many years and was the subject of a visceral documentary, Surviving R Kelly, earlier this month - prompting his record label to drop him.

Speaking to the Philadelphia Inquirer, councilwoman Helen Gym, a co-sponsor of the resolution said: “I believe that R Kelly and predators like him should be shamed and banished from the public sphere.”

    Paul McCartney and Lindsey Russell

    2) Paul McCartney has finally 'made it' after winning a gold Blue Peter badge

We were wondering when he would finally fulfil his potential.

The Beatles star was presented with the coveted badge for inspiring generations of people with his music.

To aspiring songwriters Sir Paul said: "The only advice really is to do it... a lot.

"I have a songwriting class and the first thing I say to them is 'Look I don't really know how to do this'."

    Such modesty.

Other gold badge winners include Ed Sheeran and Madonna.

    James Brown

    3) There are calls for a fresh investigation into James Brown's death

More than a dozen people close to the late music legend have told a new series on US news broadcaster CNN that they want a new post mortem or a criminal investigation of his death.

The Godfather of Soul died in on Christmas Day 2006 at the age of 73, following a heart attack.

Dr Marvin Crawford, who signed the singer's death certificate told CNN he did not believe Brown died of natural causes.

"He changed too fast," Crawford said. "He died that night, and I did raise that question: What went wrong in that room?"

The bestest buddies performed a cover of A Star Is Born's hit song, Shallow, on the Late Late Show, with the lyrics tweaked for the upcoming Grammys - which Alicia is hosting.

James has, of course, hosted the Grammys twice himself, and sang the lyrics, "Tell me something, Keys, I hear you’re set to host this year’s Grammys.”

Alicia responded: "Didn’t you host it twice? Maybe you could give me some advice."

The Grammys take place on Sunday.

    Ozzy Osbourne

    5) Ozzy Osbourne's bad luck continues

The metal legend has had a rough time of it of late, having been forced to postpone the UK and European legs of his No More Tours 2 tour, following doctor's orders.

He also had a staph infection following surgery on his thumb.

Now he's in hospital with complications from the flu.

A statement posted on his website said he has been "diagnosed with a severe upper-respiratory infection which the doctor feels could develop into pneumonia".

Poor Ozzy is understandably miserable, saying in a typically forthright statement: "It just seems that since October everything I touch has turned to [expletive].

    Get well soon Ozzy.
