  1. Bye everybody

    Justin Timberlake

Just-in the nick of time that last tour announcement today.

Like JT at Super Bowl, we are out of here. Or Homeward bound as Paul Simon might say.

Scroll down to see Justin's performance in full ahead of his UK tour, plus reaction and a new selfie star in the making in the mix up there.

Also... Where can you see Paul for the last ever time? What are the re-united Spice Girls plotting? Which footballer has Rihanna as his lucky charm? And when will we see Gaga again?

All that plus Dua's SNL debut and news from Lana Del Rey, Queen, Migos, Field Day and more.

    See you 'al' tomorrow.

  2. BreakingJustin Timberlake to tour UK

    View more on twitter

Hopefully this won't be Justin's farewell tour though, like Paul (scroll down).

We couldn't handle that as well.

Not content with simply returning to his log cabin, following his big Super Bowl show last night (scroll down) JT has announced he will be heading over to these shores for the first time in four years this summer.

Justin, who released his new album Man of the Woods on Friday, will perform at Birmingham's Barclaycard Arena on 27 June, followed by a trip to the Manchester Arena on July 1, before heading on to Glasgow and London.

Tickets go on sale next Monday at 09:00 GMT.

If you're planning a summer jolly then he'll also head off into the European woods straight afterwards.

Check out the full tour details above.

Who will act as chief wood chuck while he's away, we wonder?

  3. Jimmy Fallon channels Bob Dylan

    View more on twitter

We're pretty sure the US chat show host is angling for some kinds of Stars In Their Eyes style music show.

He can turn his hand to spot-on impersonations of Neil Young, James Taylor and now Bob Dylan.

Once more the target is pretty obvious (Trump) but the lyrics are pretty clever.

Come journalists, writers who report the facts / And brandish your pen to fend off his attacks / Look past what he says and look at how he acts / The fire and fury is raging.

We cant wait to see Fallon's Eminem next - or maybe Katy P?

  4. BreakingPaul Simon announces final ever UK and Ireland tour

    Paul Simon

His pointedly-titled Farewell Tour gig at Hyde Park on 15 July was announced recently but we'd heard nothing from the man himself on the matter, until this afternoon that is.

The legendary US singer has today confirmed he will officially bring his touring life to a close in London this summer after a string of UK and Ireland dates.

The 76-year-old will still do the odd show and continue to make music but for the sake of his family, this will indeed be the end of the road.

    He said:

Quote Message: I've wondered what it would feel like to reach the point where I'd consider bringing my performing career to a natural end. Now I know.

    Read his full statement below.

The Homeward Bound singer will perform at Manchester Arena on 10 July, before heading to Glasgow, Dublin and finally London, for what's bound to be an emotional evening.

Check his website for full dates.

  5. It's a case of One In, One Out on We Are Scientists new track

    View more on youtube

This is the US band's new romantic policy apparently, on tour.

The synth-driven track sees them go in a more poppy direction and will appear on their sixth album Megaplex.

    Check it above.

  6. Girl Aloud (singular) to tour greatest hits

    View more on twitter

This news will divide GA fans.

Nadine from the band has just announced a UK and Ireland tour for May, during which she will sing tracks form her forthcoming album plus (GASP!) Girls Aloud greatest hits.

Who will sing Cheryl's part we don't know but you can check out the details above.

  7. Billie Piper sick of 'sanctioned pimping' of girls in showbiz

    The Sunday Times

    View more on youtube

Teen singing star-turned-Doctor Who actress Billie Piper says she was "over-sexualised" during her fledgling pop career.

Referring to the widespread sexual harassment reports within the film industry, she told The Sunday Times: “I find the abuse of power really upsetting.

Quote Message: If I’m honest what I find really sickening is all the agents subjecting their clients to it, knowing full well what’s going on. Like sanctioned pimping.

She added: “I think that’s why, for so long, my desire to hide my body in baggy clothes took hold.”

Billie went on to question the motives of some actresses involved in the #MeToo movement, who have not been directly effected themselves.

“Let’s say I know a lot of headstrong actors and actresses wanting to get something who wouldn’t say they’re victims of this,” said Piper.

  8. And in more musical nostalgia news...

    Consequence of Sound

    Consequence of Sound

    Billy Corgan

To another reunion now, from another band whose heyday was very much in the mid-90s, grunge rockers The Smashing Pumpkins.

Singer Billy Corgan has been posting various clues on his Instagram feed and former bass player D'Arcy Wretzky basically confirmed it last week (though she hasn't been invited to perform).

Now band members, Corgan, James Iha and Jimmy Chamberlain have been spotted doing a photoshoot with bass player Jeff Schroeder - who joined their lineup in 2007.

Just hurry up and say something official lads...

  9. Get Involved: What should the re-united Spice Girls do next?

    View more on twitter

So the girls are back together and "working on ideas for the future", to quote Sporty Spice (scroll down).

But what exactly will the future hold?

    • Brexit negotiations in a Union Jack dress?
    • Spicing up people's love lives with a new dating ap?
    • Or... Viva Forever: Learn Spanish with the Spice Girls?

If you have an idea for Geri and the gang to return with then let us know via the BBC Music Twitter page.

  10. IDLES rip up Liverpool for Independent Venues Week

    BBC 6 Music

The city's Parr Street Studios opened it's doors to the Bristol punks on Friday for a special performance for Independent Venue Week.

The show was broadcast live on 6 Music and the band played tracks from their 2017 album Brutalism, which was handy as DJ Steve Lamacq picked that one as his favourite of last year.

Listen back to their raucous set and re-read our chat with bands about their first and favourite venues.

  11. Migos top US chart with second album

    View more on youtube

The rap trio have landed their second number one album with the imaginatively titled Culture II.

Migos’ last album, Culture, debuted at number one on the Billboard chart in February 2017.

Released on 26 January, Culture II sold 199,000 equivalent albums.

Quavo from the group rounded up the sales, naturally...

The chart position now means Migos are only the fifth rap group with more than one US chart-topping, following Beastie Boys, A Tribe Called Quest, Bone Thugs-N-Harmony and D12.

  12. Field Day announce line-up with an exclusive Erykah Badu set

    View more on twitter

To mark its move to Brockwell Park in south London, the Field Day festival has announced its lineup with the likes of grime star AJ Tracey, Thundercat, Charlotte Gainsbourg and Earl Sweatshirt.

The highlight has to be an exclusive set from Ms Badu.

    Check out their promo above.

Incidentally London is apparently now the 'gig capital of the world', according to new research. Not Scarborough, as fans of Britney/Lionel Richie will have you believe.

    Not yet anyway.

  13. Queen announced European summer dates, including one in London

    Queen and Adam Lambert

The veteran rockers, ably-assisted by the vocal aerobics of singer Adam Lambert, have announced a run of shows, following up their 25-date tour which wrapped up in December last year.

Alongside shows in Italy and Germany, the band return to London’s O2 Arena on 2 July

Guitarist Dr Brian May said: “While we're still physically able to perform at those high energy levels on this massive scale, we thought... ‘YES !! One more around the block!’

"It’s live, it’s dangerous, and it takes every ounce of fitness we can muster. But it’s still fun!“

We assume the "danger" is largely experienced by the 70-year-old musician and his 68-year old bandmate Roger Taylor.

  14. Dua Lipa performs and Natalie Portman raps (again) on Saturday Night Live

    View more on youtube

Dua took her smash hit New Rules to a new audience in the States on Saturday via one of their primetime TV shows.

Check out her debut SNL performance above.

For her next album Dua might one to enlist the services of actress/wannabe rapper Natalie Portman.

You might know her best as Padme Amidala, Princess Leia's mum in Star Wars but she's more like Queen Latifa in her latest hip hop sketch which you can view over on SNL's YouTube page.

Be warned there is A LOT of bleeped out language...

  15. Is Rihanna Arsenal FC's 'lucky charm'?

    View more on twitter

The Barbadian singer was at the Emirates Stadium on Saturday to see The Gunners beat Everton 5-1.

Arsenal starman Mesut Ozil pointed out his side always wins whenever Riri in the house, after she helped cheer on his national side Germany to World Cup Final victory in 2014.

Fans of the sixth-placed side will have just been delighted to have found a win in a hopeless place.

Rihanna's appearance at the match came at the end of the week in which she called on UK Prime Minister Theresa May to "prioritise girls' education" in developing nations.

  17. Lady Gaga cancels London and Manchester gigs due to 'severe pain'

    Lady Gaga

From JT on to last year's Super Bowl headliner Lady Gaga, who is not too well again sadly.

The singer, who suffers from fibromyalgia - a condition which causes chronic pain, has been forced to scrap the remaining 10 dates of her Joanne tour on doctors orders.

Lady G had been due to appear at London's O2 Arena last night and the Manchester Arena tomorrow night but that show will no longer go ahead and ticket holders can claim a refund.

In an online message, the 31-year-old, who performed at last week's Grammy Awards in her home town of New York, said she was "devastated" and promised to return to the cities of the cancelled gigs, adding she needed to "put myself and my well-being first".

She wrote on Twitter: “If I don’t do this, I am not standing by the words or meaning of my music. My medical team is supporting the decision for me to recover at home."

Quote Message: I love this show more than anything, and I love you, but this is beyond my control. London, Manchester, Zurich, Koln, Stockholm, Copenhagen, Paris, Berlin. And Rio. I promise I will be back in your city, but for now I need to put myself and my wellbeing first. I love you, forever. CXX Gaga.

Gaga was forced to cancel tour dates last year for similar reasons.

    Get well soon Lady G.

  18. Spice Girls working on 'ideas for the future'

    Video content

Video caption: Mel C calls Dermot with the scoop on the Spice Girls reunion.

    Shut the front door.

Rumours were circling on Friday but it seems it's true that the Spice Girls/ladies are re-uniting... but it's not yet clear what for.

The SGs confirmed they are working on new projects, after meeting for the first time since 2012, at Geri's house in Hertfordshire.

Notice behind them, there are several copies of the book Strong is the New Pretty, which is a 'celebration of girls being themselves', lying on the table.

Could this give us some kind of clue?

Mel C told Dermot O'Leary on Radio 2's Saturday Breakfast Show (above) that they had wanted "a little catch up" to "see where everyone's at".

"It's the worst kept secret in showbiz always," she said. "It was lovely to get together, so we are talking about opportunities, ideas we have for the future... but you know, it's early stages and there's nothing set in stone, there is no big announcement.

    View more on twitter

The singer has tweeted fans to put their minds at ease after a man was arrested in Florida over threats to kidnap her.

Michael Hunt was carrying a knife when he was arrested near the Amway Center in Orlando, where Lana had been due to perform, officials said.

He now faces charges of aggravated stalking with a credible threat, and attempted kidnapping with a weapon.

Lana took to Twitter to say: "Hey kiddos, I'm doing fine thanks for the messages."

  20. Watch Justin Timberlake plays Prince and takes selfies at Super Bowl show

So while we were sleeping, Philadelphia Eagles beat New England Patriots to take the Super Bowl crown.

But we know you're not here to read about that - you want music, music, music... and the main winners on the night were Justin Timberlake fans as the US pop star paid tribute to the late, great Prince on the pitch during his half-time set in the purple man's hometown of Minneapolis.

    The new-found Man of the Woods performed Prince's I Would Die 4 U during a hit-packed 12-minute medley.

Initial plans to include an actual hologram of the singer, who died in 2016, were apparently shelved, with his drummer Sheila E confirming as much online ahead of the show.

There was sadly no appearance from the major victim of his last Super Bowl performance, aka Nipplegate; Janet Jackson.

But we knew that before the show too because JJ hold us herself.

We should say before you click on the above video that other fizzy drinks are available, whatever Jimmy Fallon tells you.

Justin risked being overshadowed by young Ryan who kept his head during 'the greatest show on earth' to take a quick selfie of the two of them mid performance.

He'll probably have his own chat show by the end of the week.
