  1. We don't care

    View more on youtube

So we're off home... whether you like it or not.

Only joking, I Don't Care is the name of one of the tracks on Goat Girl's new album, so our parting gift today is the London girls performing an acoustic version of the track while sat on a rock somewhere in Austin at SXSW, courtesy of BBC Music Introducing.

While you let that wash over you, scroll down our American-themed MNL page today to see Cardi B's unborn baby twerk (is there a doctor in the house who could advise on this?) and news from Coachella, or should that be Bey-chella.

Eminem might have something to say about that.

Plus news from the Rock & Roll Hall of fame featuring Lauryn Hill, Nina Simone and Bon Jovi but not, repeat, not Mark Knopfler.

See y'all tomorrow, 09:00 British Summer Time.

  2. George Michael blue plaque unveiled at old school

    George Michael

A plaque celebrating George has been unveiled at his former school in Hertfordshire.

That's where he met Andrew Ridgeley, at Bushey Meads School sixth-form, before the pair went on to form Wham!.

The school's executive principal Jeremy Turner said it would "inspire" pupils.

George and his family moved to Bushey when he was a teenager.

More from the Californian desert now...

Rap superstar Eminem, the man who never (well, very rarely) smiles, brought a surprising dose of humour to his headline show at Coachella on Sunday night.

The 45-year-old rapper set up a pop-up Mom's Spaghetti pasta-stall at the event, inspired by the lyrics to his hit Lose Yourself.

Its various spaghetti-based dishes, including a sandwich of garlic bread, spaghetti, and mozzarella, and spaghetti and meatballs, mirror the restaurant of the same name opened by the wordsmith in his hometown of Detroit last year.

On stage, Eminem made it a night to remember for old and new fans alike, bringing out Dr. Dre - for his namesake track Still Dre - as well as 50 Cent, Skylar Grey (both below) and Kehlani

Bebe Rexha arrived on stage too to fill Rihanna's guest spot on The Monster.

The rap icon also dedicated his comeback single, Not Afraid, to fans after staying ten years sober.

Let's hope revelers who were indulging didn't find vomit on their sweater already by the time Em had took to the stage.

The track is set to appear on his forthcoming album Coup de Grace, which also features songwriting credits for Lana Del Rey and Jamie T.

It's his first record for five years but he's been keeping himself busy with his summer job as one half of the Last Shadow Puppets alongside Alex Turner.

Miles kicks off his UK tour on 23 May in Carlisle.

The Mixers appeared on #SLFN again this weekend, in part two of Dotty's trip to Japan to hang out with the girlband.

They were set the challenge of performing as many of their hits as was humanly possible inside 60 seconds.

There's four of them so surely they could beat last week's contender Gary Barlow - of Take That fame.

    Brockhampton

The blue-skinned rap collective apparently had a bit of a 'mare at the weekend in California, coming on to the stage at Coachella 15 minutes late and suffering from several technical hitches.

The group's elective frontman Kevin Abstract shared an apology with fans calling the situation a ''nightmare''.

    Not IRL.

But here he is in an un-aired Saturday Night Live sketch as he joins in as a musical accompaniment to a hugely inappropriate duet between a bride and a best man.

Even stifling a smirk or two, he shows off some serious gee-tar skills.

"Jack White played at my wedding," beams the clueless groom.

Fellow guitar wizard St Vincent was equally pleased to discover that the former White Stripe was in fact playing one of her own specially designed axes on the show.

Kylie Minogue may be closing in on the 50 mark but she proved this week that's she's golden - not olden.

The singer, who last week had to allay fears from the BBC Breakfast team about her pending half century, saw her new 14th studio album; Golden, go to the top of the UK album charts on Friday evening.

Kyles, who reached the top after shifting 48,000 combined sales, told the Official ChartsL “I don’t know where to start...

Over in America Cardi B went straight in at number one with her debut album Invasion of Privacy.

The album sold 235,000 copies in its first week, second only this year to Justin Timberlake's Man of the Woods.

The rapper also demonstrated at Coachella that being pregnant is no barrier to twerking.

Last week, Cardi revealed (although we don't think she was supposed to) that she would get a cool $70,000 for each of her Coachella sets over the next few weeks.

  16. Noel Gallagher salutes 'champions of England' Man City

So pretty hard to top Beyonce's weekend then, agreed?

Well one man who might contest that would be Noel Gallagher.

The former Oasis guitarist is on the home stretch of his European tour with his High Flying Birds, before kicking off the UK leg next week.

He was delighted to see his beloved Manchester City crowned Premier League champions without having kicked a ball, after rivals Manchester United lost at home to lowly West Brom.

Noel posted the above picture of the club badge on Insta, alongside the wordsl "Champions of England we salute you!! Congratulations to everyone at MCFC.

"Big shout out to *El Señor. UP THE BLUES."

  17. Lauryn Hill helps induct Nina Simone into Rock & Roll Hall of Fame

    Lauryn Hill

The soul star performed a medley of the late singer's songs at the event this weekend, including the iconic Feeling Good.

Nina was inducted by Oscar-nominee and Grammy awards winner Mary J Blige who called her “bold, strong, feisty and fearless".

She added: “Her voice was so distinctive and warm and powerful; I never heard anything like it.

Quote Message: Nina sang for all her pain, her joy, her confusion, her happiness, her sickness, her fight. She fought through all the stereotypes. She fought for her identity. She fought for her life.
    Bon Jovi

Bon Jovi were also inducted on the evening and Jon Bon Jovi, who has made no secret of the fact that he wanted to be inducted (his reaction to the announcement was along the lines of.. "it's about time"), said:

“I’ve been writing this speech since I first strummed the broom and sang at the top of the stairs of my childhood home.

“I’ve actually written it many ways, many times. Some days I write the 'thank you' speech, other days, I write the '**** you' speech.”

Fortunately he pumped for the former version.

    The Killers

The awards began with unannounced performers the Killers honouring the late Tom Petty with a cover of his classic American Girl.

Singer Brandon Flowers also inducted new wave band The Cars into the Hall Of Fame.

He told Rolling Stone; "I feel like it was yesterday that my mom was complaining about the sound that was coming out of the speakers when I had The Cars in.

"They were the first band I fell in love with, and they set me on the right track.”

One slightly sour note, on the evening when British rockers Dire Straits were inducted, was that singer and guitarist Mark Knopfler was absent and his refusal to attend - or even address the honour - meant there was no performance or even a presenting speech.

Bassist John Illsley said: "It's just a personal thing. He’s got his reasons. Let’s just leave it at that.”

The 36-year-old star of the weekend brought band mates Kelly Rowland and Michelle Williams on stage during her headline set at the California festival on Saturday night.

It's the first time the trio have appeared together since the Stellar Gospel Music Awards in 2015 and they knocked out versions of their hits Lose My Breath, Say My Name and Soldier.

Beyonce's show took on a military theme, beginning with a rendition of her 2003 hit Crazy In Love played by a marching band.

The nearly two-hour set included quotes from civil rights activist Malcolm X and feminist author Chimamanda Ngozi Adichie, as well as samples of Nina Simone.

    Beyonce

The performance also featured Lift Every Voice and Sing; a song often referred to as the "Black American National Anthem".

Not to be outdone by his wife's old pals, hubby Jay-Z also joined Bey on stage for a performance of their 2012 song Deja Vu, while Solange later came on stage to dance with her elder sister.
