James Weeks conducts the BBC Singers in a programme featuring his own work for choir and narrator, Orlando Tenebrae.
At the heart of the programme are Lenten-related works that make no reference to Christian or religious specifics in their texts. The Orlando Tenebrae takes these ancient texts into a modern, secular frame of reference, where the theme becomes oppression, suffering and hope.
