Forty years of hits

Celebrating their 40th anniversary as band in 2014, Blondie have spent the last four decades making timeless, genre-hopping pop music.

Founded in 1974 by iconic frontwoman Debbie Harry and guitarist Chris Stein, the band burst out of the New York new wave scene with a series of hit singles on both sides of the Atlantic including The Tide Is High, Atomic and Call Me.

After a lengthy hiatus the band reformed in 1999 to have a UK no.1 with Maria and were inducted into the Rock ‘n’ Roll Hall of Fame in 2006.

Fresh from a session with Jo Whiley and a Radio 2 documentary on their early career, Blondie take to the main stage of Hyde Park, promising a set packed with classic tunes alongside cuts from their tenth studio album Ghosts Of Download.
