About This Event

Composer-in-Association Huw Watkins curates two concerts of the music that shaped him, as a performer and as a composer, beginning with Tippett and Britten, two composers who have strongly influenced Huw’s compositional style. Following Tippett’s Suite for the Birthday of Prince Charles, written in 1948, Huw Watkins is the soloist for Benjamin Britten’s Piano Concerto. The concert concludes with Bartok’s Concerto for Orchestra in which every member of the orchestra is a soloist.
