Expand your compositional skills with this ‘Writing for Voices’ workshop led by the BBC Singers, Associate Composer Judith Weir and conductor Matthew Hamilton at St Paul’s Church Knightsbridge.
Judith Weir, Master of the Queen’s Music, will give helpful tips and techniques on notation, score-layout, vocal ranges, text-setting and choral techniques, while the BBC Singers themselves will be on-hand to contribute their unrivalled practical experience and expertise – an excellent opportunity to learn about effective choral writing from some of the most experiences practitioners in the field.
The workshop will culminate with a short performance of two brand new organ commissions, in association with Choir and Organ Magazine, and four compositions heard at BBC Singers composition workshops this year. Please note that if you wish to attend the concert, you must apply separately. Entry to the workshop will not constitute entry to the afternoon concert.
