About this event
BBC Symphony Orchestra Chief Conductor Sakari Oramo conducts a double-bill from 20th-century musical genius and visionary, Olivier Messiaen.
His gargantuan Turangalîla Symphony is a vibrant and colourful celebration of all-consuming love, loosely based on the Tristan and Isolde story. It is preceded here by Messiaen’s four sacred meditations for orchestra, L’Ascension.
