The opening chapter in our storytelling season will transport you to mysterious lands where fairy tale characters come to life.
Debussy’s Prélude à l’après-midi d’un faune marked a turning point in classical music: Depicting the dreams and encounters of mythical faun and conjuring a magical land through a whole new and enthralling sound world. Stravinsky’s Firebird is just as entrancing, telling of a darkened forest that is home to a bewitched glowing bird who rescues the hero Prince Ivan.
