We celebrate the 80th birthday of our former Composer/Conductor Sir Peter Maxwell Davies, with a concert featuring a selection of his works.
The programme begins with an overture to St Francis of Assisi, a yet unfinished opera about the life of the saint inspired by contemporary biographies by Belano and St. Bonaventure and Francis's own writings. Fall of Leafe depicts the changing seasons and the Last Door of Light reflects climate change and the composer’s home in the Orkney islands.
The programme is completed by Stravinksy’s Symphony in C.
