Painting the airwaves

With their mod haircuts and guitar mastery, the four lads from Cavan, Ireland who make up The Strypes are well on their way to superstardom

Having spent the last 18 months on the gig circuit developing their enthusiastic rhythm and blues sound, they’ve received praise from Paul Weller and been tipped by the NME as a number one band to watch.

They recently wowed at 6 Music Live in Maida Vale plus hyped the Radio 1’s Big Weekend crowd at a BBC Introducing gig before the event. Taking influence from Mercury label mate Jake Bugg and Main Stage headliners The Rolling Stones, it’s worth betting that it won’t be long until strypes are seen all over the Pyramid Stage.
