Prolific producer returns on a bigger stage

Like a number of performers on this year’s John Peel Stage, James Blake is returning to Worthy Farm for a second year running. He played the Park Stage in 2011 with an intense, moody set showcasing his unique brand of emotive electronic tunes, often filtered through deep dubstep beats.

Placed second in the 2011 BBC’s Sound Of poll, Blake has wasted no time in building on his fanbase which includes Zane Lowe and 6 Music’s Gilles Peterson. After initially carving out a career by releasing small underground EPs and mixtapes (under the moniker Harmonimix), James can now look back on his second album in as many years after Overgrown hit the shops (yes, albums still ‘hit the shops’) in April.
