Star ascending

In just 12 months Laura Mvula has transformed from a stage-shy receptionist to Brit nominated and critically acclaimed superstar.

The release of EP She in November last year made waves sizeable enough for many a critic to not only take notice, but instantly mark her as a tip for the next 12 months, landing her 4th place in the BBC Sound of 2013.

Laura Mvula brings an intricate sound that is as emotionally intense as it is mesmerising, showing us why, in a crowded market of female solo artists, she is riding the crest of an unbelievably fast-moving wave. With her debut album Sing To The Moon making the Top 10 back in March, Laura is set to bring her haunting vocals to make her Glastonbury debut.
