No pain, plenty of gain

Hurts head to Glastonbury on the back of the release of their second album, Exile, which came out in March 2013.

The synthpop duo from Manchester rose to prominence in 2010 with the release of their debut, Happiness, a commercial and critical success that included the emphatic single Wonderful Life. That same year, the band also finished fourth in the BBC’s Sound Of poll.

It’s been two years since Theo Hutchcraft and Adam Anderson played Glastonbury but the memories of their spectacular performance on the John Peel stage in 2011 are still strong. It was actually voted by NME as that year’s show stealing festival performance ahead of Radiohead, U2 and Coldplay. Probably not one to miss, then.
