The Men Who … Are Back

Taking their name from the character Travis Henderson from the film Paris, Texas (not after Taxi Driver’s Travis Bickle), Fran Healy (vocals, rhythm guitar), Dougie Payne (bass, backing vocals), Neil Primrose (drums) and Andy Dunlop (lead guitar, banjo, backing vocals) got together at Glasgow School of Art in 1990.

Since then, they’ve released six studio albums and have won ‘Best Band’ twice at the Brits. Often credited for having paved the way for bands like Coldplay (Chris Martin called himself ‘a poor man’s Fran Healy’), Travis have played with a number of artists over the years including Paul McCartney, Noel Gallagher and Graham Nash (of The Hollies and Crosby, Stills and Nash).

They took a break in 2009 to pursue personal projects and to spend time with their families, but they’re back this year with a new album, ‘Where You Stand’ and a welcome reappearance at T.
