The Lake Poets
The Lake Poets
Domh 14 Iúil 2013 BBC Introducing Stage
Supported by BBC Newcastle Introducing in the North East

The Lake Poets is endearing acoustic singer songwriter Martin Longstaff, who has been composing his own tracks since 2011.

Delicate melodies are combined with thoughtful, honest lyricism and finely wrought production. The Lake Poets live can switch from the fragility of Martin on his own to a larger but equally potent sound with a backing band, pooled together from his friendship group.

On record, Martin has worked alongside Barry Hyde from The Futurheads and Frankie & The Heartstrings' Mick Ross and on stage he has performed at Glastonbury, Kendall Calling, Stockton Weekend and Evolution in the past couple of summers.

The track Rain, featuring Hyde on piano, was selected as part of the BBC Introducing Picks For 2013 free download at the start of the year.
