'Friday Night is Music Night' is proud to present an evening of 'Pure Imagination' from the London Palladium. Hugh Bonneville hosts this magical concert inspired by children's classics.
The sixty piece BBC Concert Orchestra together with West End star singers Joe Stilgoe, Louise Dearman, Caroline Sheen and Michael Xavier, plus the eight-piece vocal group Capital Voices, will perform songs from stage and screen favourites, among them, Mary Poppins, Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory, The Little Mermaid, Chitty Chitty Bang Bang, Toy Story, and in tribute to the Palladium legend Danny Kaye, Hans Christian Anderson. Among the songs, 'The Ugly Duckling', 'Thumbelina', The ‘Kings New Clothes’, 'Part of Your World', 'Let It Go', 'A Spoon Full of Sugar', 'Hushabye Mountain' , 'Feed the Birds' and of course 'Pure Imagination'. Also featuring film scores to classic adventures, from superheroes, to extra-terrestrials, railway children to boy wizards, this evening promises to be simply ‘supercalifragilisticexpialidocious’! Conducted by Broadway maestro Larry Blank.
