Jon Hopkins was due to play Sunday night on the Concourse at the Sage Gateshead - as part of the 6 Musical Festival.

For those of you going - or if you who were looking forward to hearing his set or watching it on the Red Button - we found out earlier that he's had to pull out due to illness.

** ABOUT JON HOPKINS **

Electronic maestro Jon Hopkins is a much in-demand producer and collaborator, having begun his career as Imogen Heap's keyboardist at the end of the 1990s.

He's released four solo studio albums and two film soundtracks, one of which earned him an Ivor Novello Award for Best Original Score. He's also worked with the likes of Brian Eno and Coldplay, for whom he co-produced the track Midnight on their 2014 Ghost Stories LP.

He was two Mercury Prize nominations, the first for 2011's Diamond Mine, a collaboration with Scottish singer-songwriter King Creosote, the second for his own 2013 album Immunity.
