    Harriet Shearsmith, the writer behind the popular parenting blog Toby and Roo, has said that mothers are 'constantly judged'.

    Harriet, who will be in Blackpool Tower for today's #mumtakeover, said on Instagram that mums all face 'the same utterly horrible judgement from each other'.

    'Mothers are held to a higher standard than anyone else... and it does make you amazing, but it doesn't make you superhuman,' she wrote.

  4. 'Third of mothers' experience mental health issues

    As part of the #mumtakeover, a BBC Radio 5 live and YouGov online survey has found that over a third of mothers have experienced mental health issues related to parenthood.

    Over 1,800 British parents were surveyed.

    More than two-thirds of the affected mothers sought professional help - suffering from conditions such as acute stress, severe anxiety and postpartum depression.

    The study revealed that, in comparison, 17% of fathers had experienced similar issues.

    Tips from Blackpool Better Start to help baby's brain development

    As part of the #mumtakeover, Merle Davies of Blackpool Better Start and director of the Centre for Early Child Development has 10 top tips to aid a baby's brain development.

    "At Blackpool Better Start we believe that building a brain is a lot like building a house - and to do that you have to have a strong foundation," Merle said.

    "Our strong foundation is about having strong and resilient communities and parents, which is essential for the healthy structure of a child’s brain," she added.

    TV Presenter Rochelle Humes spoke about her happiest moment as a mum.

    "My happiest moment, as a mother, has probably been when my second was born," said the 28-year-old.

    "My first [child] was so overjoyed, so happy and so excited... I just kind of loved that moment."

  10. What is the #mumtakeover?

    Celeb mums Stacey Solomon, Rochelle Humes, mum blogger and author Giovanna Fletcher, and DJ Neev Spencer join BBC 5 live presenter Anna Foster to host the UK’s biggest conversation about mums and mental health at an event at Blackpool Tower today from 13:00-15:00.

    Mums everywhere are invited to join in online using #mumtakeover and watch live.

    The invited presenters have all been very public about their own, sometimes difficult, experiences of having babies and becoming mums.

    They are all part of the 5 live Mum Takeover, which is also supported by Netmums, Maternal Mental Health Alliance and Blackpool Better Start.

    Discussions today will range from post-natal depression and anxiety, to work/life balance and tackling loneliness.

    5 live’s Anna Foster is hosting the day, supported by the celebrity presenters who will quiz the experts and hear contributions from the audience and people getting in touch online.

    Mum Takeover supporters Netmums, Maternal Mental Health Alliance and Blackpool Better Start are represented on a panel of experts alongside mum-of-one, DJ and Broadcaster Neev Spencer, who’s worked with the Heads Together campaign.

    TV presenter Rochelle Humes, former X Factor contestant and Loose Women presenter Stacey Solomon, plus popular blogger and author Giovanna Fletcher will be helping the audience share their own stories and put questions to the panel too.

    The entire event will be live streamed at bbc.co.uk/mumtakeover and BBC 5 live's Facebook account, and BBC Radio 5 live will dip in and out of the day’s proceedings on air throughout the afternoon and the discussion will take place online too.
