Retired tool-maker who painted a life-size Canalleto

Everyday Artist

By any artist’s standards the scale of the challenge was daunting. Kenneth Small completed a life-sized replica of a masterpiece by Canaletto – despite having no formal art training.

Dad creates kingdoms from clutter

Everyday artist

Surely in the running for world's number one dad is Kirk Crosby from Leeds with whom we caught up back in September 2015. By day he worked for a facilities management company, but by night became official toymaker to daughter Roma.

Made from recycled materials, his models include a Sleeping Beauty castle, a Nativity Scene and a hospital.

The Big Painting Challenge

Mentors Pascal Anson and Diana Ali did a fantastic painting masterclass for us yesterday, from Swiss Cottage Library in London. Presenter Lindsey Chapman was shown how to draw hands, faces and why abstract art is still art!

Lots of great advice for those starting out with pencils and paints.
