A rock pool on a seashore is described as a habitat and all the organisms that live in it are described as an ecosystem. The fact that there are many ecosystems on a shore, including rock pools, cliffs and sand dunes is mentioned. The habitats and ecosystems in a woodland are then described.

Use this clip to introduce or recap study of ecosystems. Ask students to put together a presentation on a particular ecosystem. The flow of energy through the ecosystem should be considered and the impact of addition or removal of species could be touched upon.
