Classroom Ideas

Prepare a written version of the text extract featured in the clip in advance, give each student a copy and ask them to annotate it with what it means to them, what words suggest, whether they can picture the images etc. Watch the clip and ask students to compare their responses with those of the speaker in the clip and explore any similarities and differences as an introduction to examining what the possible effects of a text, on the reader, might be.
