Amidst all the excitement about the Tenth Doctor's final epic adventure we wanted to celebrate the fantastic cast that's been assembled for these two special episodes.
David Tennant will be joined by several familiar faces including the brilliant Bernard Cribbins, Catherine Tate and John Simm. Timothy Dalton, most famous for his portrayal of secret agent 007 in two James Bond movies is also onboard and David Harewood, recently seen as Tuck in BBC One's Robin Hood, co-stars as Joshua Naismith.
We're also delighted that the all-round legend Claire Bloom will be appearing in The End of Time, Part One. Claire won global recognition for her BAFTA-winning performance in Limelight (1952) and went onto to appear in landmark dramas such as Look Back in Anger and Brideshead Revisited before scooping another BAFTA for her role in Shadowlands.
And if those luminaries weren't enough the national treasure and award-winning actress June Whitfield joins the cast as Minnie Hooper! June is one of the UK's best-loved stars and for over fifty years has appeared in everything from Absolutely Fabulous, Friends and several Carry On films to acclaimed dramas including The Last of the Blonde Bombshells and Marple.
In The End of Time, Part One, June plays a friend of Wilfred Mott - a lady with an eye for a handsome face... so a certain Time Lord had better watch out! She's cheeky, forward and funny and we've got a clip online which shows what happened when Minnie met the Doctor. You can see the rest on Christmas Day from 6pm on BBC One.
