Exactly 46 years ago today the world was introduced to a traveller in time and space known as the Doctor. At approximately 5.16pm on 23rd November 1963, viewers of BBC One heard Doctor Who's evocative theme tune for the first time and entered a world of excitement and adventure.

But now, perhaps more than any other moment in Doctor Who's history, it is a time to look ahead. The Tenth Doctor's era comes to a stunning conclusion in The End of Time, Part One and The End of Time, Part Two and throughout December we'll be bringing you a load of exclusive videos, features and interviews with the stars of these hugely anticipated episodes.

2010 sees Matt Smith in the TARDIS as the Eleventh Doctor with Karen Gillan by his side as new companion Amy Pond.

And before any of that you can currently enjoy Dreamland, a dramatic new animated Doctor Who adventure which is hurtling towards its fantastic finale on Red Button and online. You can catch up with the first two episodes by visiting the Dreamland homepage now.
