Doctor Who has won the National Television Television Award for Most Popular Drama for the third year running.

"I know it's won before" said star Catherine Tate, who accepted the award alongside Executive Producer Russell T Davies and other members of the cast, "but I was sweating that we wouldn't win when I joined!"

The show's success was followed by a win for David Tennant in the Outstanding Drama Performance Category.
