Ten minute arts and crafts

Just for fun?

Arts and crafts for kids are about much more than just fun! They can also boost your child’s self-esteem and help develop crucial coordination skills. Crafting together is a great way to bond with your little one.

1. Wristband

Make a Let's Go Club wristband together. Cut it out using our template and decorate it using any crafty bits that you have around about the house. Your child might be even be able to swap their finished wristband for a Blue Peter badge.

2. Soap boat racers

Fill a tray with water and cut some simple boat shapes out of cardboard. Dab a bit of washing up liquid behind the boats and watch them go! You could hold some family races, or even get your little one to race with their friends.

3. Two page animation

This really easy two page animation is a great way for your child to make their own little film! Talk through how you could make two slightly different pictures, or encourage older ones to develop the story to make a longer film.

4. Dancing ghosts

Looking for something spooky? Help your child cut out these paper ghosts, then use a balloon to make them dance. This is a great way to introduce your child to the wonders of static electricity!

5. Rubber glove bagpipes

Get your child to make some noise with these rubber glove bagpipes. All you need is a rubber glove, a straw, a cardboard tube, some sticky tape, and a pair of scissors!
