The BP Book Awards shortlist is chosen from TWENTY books, ten story books and ten factual books. So we get some book-loving experts to help us chose three finalists from each category. So who are they? Watch these bios and learn all about the Book Awards judges and which books they loved growing up.

Alex T. Smith is a legendary author and illustrator, who's won awards for his books and illustrations. Also, his 'Claude' series has been made into an animated TV show.

Louise Pentland is a vlogging sensation! She has millions of followers on her online channel AND she's written books as well! Wowza. 

Darren Chetty

Darren Chetty has taught in schools for over twenty years and is passionate about books and the role they play in young people's lives. 

Ewan Vinnicombe

Ewan Vinnicombe has the best job in the world, not only is he the big boss of Blue Peter but also gets to help judge the Book Awards every year!
