Pumpkin Template - The Next Step: Michelle

Make sure you have an adult help you when handling any sharp objects or tools.

  1. Print out the template you would like to use.
  2. Hollow out the pumpkin with the help of an adult.
  3. Now it's time to transfer your selected design on to the pumpkin (you can use one of our templates or draw your own). Attach it to the pumpkin, and trace the design by poking holes around the outlines of the dark sections. Get an adult to help you do this with a pumpkin carving kit or an old pen.
  4. Remove the template and get an adult to help you carve along the dotted pattern.

  • Make sure you have a pumpkin that is the right size for the design.
  • The more detailed the design, the bigger the pumpkin you will need.
  • When carving it is easier to start with smaller sections and move on to the bigger bits after.
  • Pumpkins with a lighter colour tend to be softer and easier to carve.
