Make this easy no-bake chocolate cake

You will need

  • 460g whipping cream
  • 90g honey
  • 1000g dark chocolate, in small chunks
  • 135g butter, in small chunks
  • 300g rich tea biscuits
  • 3 tablespoons vegetable oil
  • 20cm (9 inch) cake tin or cake ring
  • Baking paper
  • Hand blender (optional)

Step 1 – Ganache

Heat the cream and honey in a saucepan until it starts to boil. (Grab a grown-up to help with this bit, if you need.)

Put half of the chocolate in a mixing bowl and gradually stir in the cream and honey until the chocolate melts, then do the same with the butter.

Step 2 – Cake

Break the biscuits into small pieces. Mix in most of the ganache (about 600g – save the rest for decorating!)

Line a cake tin with baking paper and fill it with the biscuit mixture.

Leave it in the fridge for two hours.

Step 3 – Glaze

Turn the cake upside down, so the flat bottom is now on top.

Melt the rest of the chocolate and mix in the oil.

Pour the chocolate over the cake. If you put some cling film underneath, it'll keep the surface clean and stop the chocolate getting wasted!

Add any decorations you fancy!
