Lightly grease or use baking parchment to line a loaf tin and grab a grown-up to help preheat the oven at 180C/350F/Gas 4.
Mix the butter and sugar together in a large mixing bowl until light and fluffy.
In a separate bowl, mash the bananas using a fork. They should be really gooey!
Add the eggs, mashed bananas, milk and vanilla extract to the butter and sugar mixture and MIX, MIX, MIX!
Fold in the flour and bicarbonate of soda. Grab a grown-up and pour the mixture into the loaf tin and bake for about an hour, or until it is well-risen and looks golden-brown.
Remove the banana loaf from the oven, grab a grown-up and be careful the oven is HOT! Cool the loaf in the tin for a few minutes, and then turn it out onto a wire rack to cool completely before eating.
