Make pizza pancakes

You will need

  • Sunflower oil
  • 100g plain flour
  • 1 egg
  • 300ml milk
  • Salt
  • Pepper
  • 500g passata
  • Tomato puree
  • Pinch of garlic
  • Mixed herbs
  • Cheese
  • Peppers
  • Onions
  • Mushrooms
  • Pepperoni
  • Sweetcorn
  • Pineapple
  • 2 mixing bowls
  • A frying pan
  • A baking tray
  • Wooden spoon

Before you start

Make sure you have clean hands, a clean work surface and a grown-up to hand to help you with the hob and oven. Then you are good to go!

Making the pancakes

Grab a grown-up to help you with the hob. Pop the pan onto the hob and heat the oil.

Whilst the oil warms up, create the pancake mixture by pouring the flour and milk into a bowl, then crack in the egg. Mix with a wooden spoon until you have a creamy pancake mixture with no lumps.

When the mix is ready, pour it into the pan and cook your pancake for around one minute on each side until golden.

Making the tomato sauce

Pour the passata into a bowl, then add two teaspoons of tomato puree, a pinch of garlic, a pinch of salt and pepper, and a teaspoon of mixed herbs. Then mix thoroughly.

While you are doing this, preheat your oven to 200 degrees celcius.

Once the sauce is finished, spoon it onto the plain pancake and spread evenly.

Topping and baking

Add whatever pizza toppings you like...We've used cheese, pepperoni, sweetcorn and peppers!

Once you have added all of your toppings, put the pizza pancake onto a baking tray, and grab a grown-up to help you put the tray into the pre-heated oven. Bake for five minutes. Then your pizza pancake is ready!
