Or perhaps there’s a job that they are obsessed with and would love to do when they’re older? A chef, farmer, TV presenter, vlogger, magician, builder or something else!

Or have they got an amazing hobby, skill or talent that you think the world needs to see on live TV?

You can nominate a friend or relative, aged 8-14, that you think would love to be surprised on live TV and have their dream come true – by meeting their heroes or having a go at doing something amazing!

If you are aged 8-14 and would like to nominate a friend or relative aged 8-14 then simply ask your parent/guardian to email the following address: Saturday.mashup@bbc.co.uk

Your parent / guardian will need to provide:

  • Their name
  • Their phone number
  • Your name and age (the child who is nominating)
  • Tell us about who you want to nominate to have their dream come true on live TV and why. Who or what are they a superfan of, or what is their dream job or amazing skill?

Please note - do not send us the full name and contact details of the child being nominated at this stage – just their first name. We will get back in touch if need further information.

Your trust is very important to us. BBC Children’s Productions Ltd (“CPL”) is committed to protecting the privacy and security of your personal information and the personal information of your child. It is important that you read this notice so that you are aware of how and why we are using your information and your child’s information. This privacy notice describes how we collect and use personal information about you and your child during and after your relationship with us, in accordance with data protection law.

Why are we collecting your personal information?

CPL will use your personal data and your child’s personal data that you provide via an email to Saturday.mashup@bbc.co.uk for the purposes of developing and producing the Project Saturday Mash-Up Series 3b

What information are we collecting?

CPL will collect and process your personal information and your child’s personal information that you have provided to us as follows:

  • Name of child (who is doing the nominating)
  • Age of child
  • Your name (as parent/guardian of the child)
  • Your mobile or landline telephone number
  • Your email address
  • First name of child being nominated and reasons for the nomination

When emailing your application please add the following sentence: I consent to the BBC processing the personal data of me and my child as part of this application for my child to be considered to be included in Saturday Mash-Up.

Who is the Data Controller?

CPL is the “data controller” of your personal information and your child’s personal information. This means that CPL decides what your personal information and your child’s personal information is used for, and the ways in which it is processed. As the data controller, CPL has the responsibility to comply, and to demonstrate compliance with, data protection law.

What is the lawful basis for processing?

The legal basis on which CPL processes your and your child’s personal information for the purpose set out above is your consent to the processing of your and child’s personal data.

Do we share your personal information with Third Parties?

CPL will only share your personal information and your child’s personal information with CPL staff members and relevant BBC staff members.

Retention Period

CPL will retain your personal information and your child’s personal information until December 18th 2020 for administrative purposes. Should your child be selected to participate, we intend to retain your child’s contribution in our archive in perpetuity.
