Blue Peter - Who should get a Gold Blue Peter badge?

This week we are celebrating the *very* exciting Gold Blue Peter badge! We want to know who you think should be awarded this special badge and the reasons why they deserve one.

Only a few Gold Badges are rewarded each year to people who have achieved something amazing. When you are choosing who to nominate, have a think about:

  • somebody who has shown unique courage or bravery
  • somebody who has raised money to help a special cause
  • somebody who has achieved something amazing in their life
  • somebody who is role model and has inspired a lot of people

It could be somebody well known from the world of sport, music, film or books OR it could somebody very special in your life who has achieved something not many people could!

    I think Jade Thirwall (from Little Mix) should get a Gold Badge. She is amazing. She joins feminist and LGBTQ+ protests, she speaks out about race, and she helped her bandmate Jesy Nelson get through her depression. She inspires me everyday.

    That's a hard question as there are so many amazing people in the world right now who haven't get been awarded with a gold badge. If I were to choose without thinking for, like, 2 hours, I'd say J.K. Rowling, as she's 1) an incredible author 2) has a children's charity and helps raise money for poor children and 3) kept everyone occupied during the 1st Lockdown by using her Pottermore website and keeping in touch.
